SolutionPro is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with a mind for business to join our team as a Sales Engineer.
A successful candidate for the Sales Engineer position will be an experienced Systems Engineer with deep knowledge of, and passion for server virtualization and cloud services. The successful candidate will have the personality to engage directly with end customers while solving business problems through the development of creative solutions. The position requires the business acumen to view technology from the perspective of a managed service provider supporting multiple platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meeting with prospective customers to analyze and define the technical needs of their business
- Designing and developing new technology solutions for unique business requirements
- Evaluating enterprise technology and making purchase recommendations
- Performing the cost analysis of solutions to assist in customer purchase decisions
- Direct contact and communication with customers from needs analysis to support of completed solutions
- Accurately setting and communicating customer expectations within the company
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Successful experience in the design and implementation of virtualized server solutions
- Extensive experience in Windows Server operating systems and advanced features
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Working knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking standards and protocols
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to explain complex technology into layman’s terms
- Desire and ability to design unique technical solutions
- The ability to understand business decisions and the processes that drive them
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards
- Motivation, a positive attitude, and the desire to work with a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware VCP certification in ESX 4.0 or newer
- VMware VSP and VTSP certification
- Experience with SAN storage solutions
- Education in Business, Business Management, or IT Management
- Experience in purchasing and negotiation
